About us

Two people, two cultures, one passion for Madagascar

Ruedi and Lucie Felber-Razanatsoa

We met more than 40 years ago in Morondava, on the west coast of Madagascar. Even then, we sensed that this remarkable island would stay with us for life.

Today, MadaPlus TRAVEL brings together the two worlds that shaped us: Switzerland and Madagascar. We want to show our guests this fascinating country the way we came to know and love it ourselves.

Ruedi – connected with Madagascar for over 40 years

Ruedi is a forest engineer and a graduate of ETH Zurich. His career took him into international development cooperation – to Honduras, Mali, Vietnam and Chad, where he was responsible for the safety of Swiss expatriates.

For seven years he lived and worked in Madagascar, leading a reforestation and rural development project. In that time he came to know not only the island’s nature and its regions, but above all its people and their way of life.

Madagascar is not a destination we know from a brochure – it is a country we have been connected with for decades.

Lucie – Madagascar is her home

Lucie was born in Morondava, the very place where we met more than 40 years ago. She knows the island, its culture, its people and their everyday life from the inside.

Together we combine this local knowledge with Swiss organisation and Swiss standards.

How MadaPlus TRAVEL came about

In 2024 we brought our shared experience and our Madagascar network, built up over decades, together into a company of our own.

We wanted to create a tour operator where personal advice and individually planned journeys genuinely come first. Not an off-the-shelf trip, but a journey that suits the people taking it.

Our connection with Madagascar

Madagascar is more than a destination to us. Our long connection with the country has shown us how much respect for nature, for people and for local communities matters.

That is why we work with local drivers, guides and hotels we know personally and trust – and why we support local initiatives and projects wherever we can.

For us, sustainability is not a label. It is part of our relationship with Madagascar.

Get to know us

A journey is also a matter of trust. You know who you are dealing with – and we know your journey.

We look forward to meeting you and planning your personal Madagascar journey together.
